Tibet was an independent country. Our history doesn’t start at 7th century it originated way back. Tibetan empire was stronger than Chinese. You were just reading the Chinese distorted history of Tibet. We were self sufficient before Chinese invasion in 1950s. We have our own language tradition and culture. World is developing and without China Tibet will develop happily. You have no idea the restrictions under Chinese control. The Passive genocide happening with Tibetan children, forcing to study Chinese and freedom of expression is barely existent. You are living in the free world and you have no idea living under communist party of China. They were forced to put the photo of communist leaders in their house hold . If u like China so much you can put that pic in your house. May be you should go to Tibet and experience the living for a month. You will see there is injustice in Tibet.

Please read Prof. Lau's book about tibet history. He is an esteemed Chinese American scholar. His research found that in chinese history Tibet was always treated as forign country. Tibet become part of China only after invasion in 1959 and because of invasion H.H Dalai Lama was forced to escape. The current demand of HH Dalai Lama is not an independent country but rather a more autonomy and freedom to practice religion and preserve buddhism influced tibetan culture. Tibetan values will benefit in bringing peace in world. To conclude please read some other source about Tibet history and make a rational judgment.
